If i were to film and direct a movie based upon the epic of Gilgamesh i would have it based in ancient times.
fIREWIND - ALLEGIANCE
I chose this song to represent Gilgamesh and Enkidu's friendship. the two equal opponents who end up becoming really good friends and making an allegiance. The first couple of lyrics talk about warlike thoughts in his head, and a war that someone fights that is not even theirs. when Gilgamesh and Enkidu first met it was because Enkidu was sent down to end Gilgamesh. fighting a war that was not his, with only one goal in his head well at the time.
Five finger death punch - under and over it
The song Under and Over It can pretty describe Gilgamesh and how he wants to become immortal. the chorus goes as this " you can be me and i will be you, you can live just like a star, ill take my sanity you take the fame, I'm under and over it all!" you could take this chorus and relate right to Gilgamesh. you can be me and i will be you, i could see Gilgamesh saying this to any god, meaning he wants to become immortal. the last part of the chorus is like his adventure hes gone under and over it all to try and obtain immortality!
fort minor- remember the name
exactly what we did was remember his name, Gilgamesh that is. 2/3 god 1/3 human he should definitely be remembered. the song talks about a new member to the music group, who they see as being an overachiever, hard-worker and whose willing to sacrifice it all to make it big. Gilgamesh was hard at work to try and get immortality and he did sacrifice it all. you could say that all he wanted to do was be heard. trying to make sure he left an awesome story behind for people to remember.
God will f*** you up( don't worry Mrs.Keskes i will not play or give link to song...)
the song i chose is someone's interruption of things that god would do to you if disobeyed. one of the themes in the epic is that the gods can be very dangerous. this song would add a sense of humor to the movie.
